The story of Romolo Apicella

The current owner of the workshop, Cassetta Annunziata (known as Tina), comes from a family of potters who dedicated their lives to the development of ceramics in Vietri: her grandfather was a ceramic enthusiast and her father Francesco was a master decorator who was once the head of the Pinto kiln and was awarded the title of "Cavaliere del Lavoro" (Knight of Labor).

His uncle, Romolo Apicella, the founder of the workshop, had extensive business experience and was already a master of sculpture and decoration and a great painter. However, at one point he changed business and decided to pursue his long-held dream of becoming a Vietri pottery craftsman, and set up a workshop.

In 2007, he decided to donate the workshop to his nieces, Annarita and Annunziata, who will each continue the family tradition.

Together with her husband Gaetano, Tina maintains the colorful and warm style of Romolo, created by traditional artisans, while also experimenting with collaborations with great painters and artists.
