Originating from the Italian Renaissance, Mallorca ware (also known as tin-glazed pottery), which features vibrant colors on a white base, got its name from its introduction to Sicily via the Spanish island of Mallorca. It is a type of pottery that often incorporates a story, and historical events and legends are often depicted on it. Rudy's "Le Mallorca" series is a homage to this traditional craft that has been a part of Italy's history, and features Mallorca ware patterns as motifs that convey the splendor of each region of Italy.
